What We Do
Kuma Signals transitions the state-of-the-art in communications research into commercially viable products while operating in an enthusiastic and creative atmosphere. Our expertise lies in signal processing, digital communication, and software radio, and our advantage lies in the combination of our in-depth knowledge of the latest research and implementation skills to turn theory into practice.
Wireless Standards
We keep up-to-date on all the latest wireless standards, with special emphasis on physical layer design and simulation of 3GPP LTE, IEEE 802.11n, IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11ad, and GSM. We also have experience with the latest military standards, including the Wideband Networking Waveform (WNW), Soldier Radio Waveform (SRW), and MIL-STD-188 110C.
Communications R&D
Our founders all have PhDs in wireless communications but have a strong bent towards practical application of research. We know the latest research out of academia, which ideas are practical, and which ideas need more work. We've also published dozens of our own papers in the top wireless journals, magazines, and conferences.
MIMO Prototyping
Prototyping is our specialty, especially when it involves multiple antennas and the vast number of ways they can be utilized. Our 4-antenna MIMO prototype built on the GNU Radio platform provides a graphical interface and full rate-adaptation through the IEEE 802.11n MCSs.
