Wi-Fi Positioning Research Presented at PLANS

Kuma Signals, LLC Executive Vice President of Engineering Robert Daniels presented his latest research on positioning with commodity Wi-Fi hardware at the IEEE/ION Position Location and Navigation System (PLANS) Conference in California. The work was performed in collaboration with Kuma VP of Innovation Dr. Robert W. Heath, Jr.

“Although this research is still in its early stages, enabling position measurement in Wi-Fi and other existing platforms will allow position integration in platforms where GPS is insufficient, too power hungry, or too expensive,” said Kuma Signals CEO Steven Peters. “Applications for this type of technology include first responders, cell phones, and laptops.”
